Jim is a licensed realtor at Taylor Allen Properties. Jim brings with him over 40 years of business savvy as an established retailer and entrepreneur along the Emerald Coast. A former Naval Aviator in the United States Navy, Jim’s career success stems from his passion for business management, financial analysis and valuation, lease negotiation, and property acquisition. Jim acquired his BA in History and Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He resides in Destin with his wife Courtney and son Jake.

Q&A with Jim

Q: What is your favorite local spot?
A: Indian Bayou Country Club where I can be found striving to improve my game while taking a few bucks off my golf mates!

Q: What is your most amazing travel destination to date?
A: Growing up as a “CIA brat” and then spending five years as a Naval Aviator, I have had the good fortune of ringing the world twice, and yet at the end of the day there’s still no place like home. I’m looking forward to our upcoming trip to Australia, where I have not been, to visit my oldest son Matt and his beautiful Aussie wife Steffanie.

Q: What is your idea of a perfect day?
A: A warm and sunny day at Indian Bayou Country Club shooting a round in the low 70’s, capped off with an enjoyable dinner at home with family and friends.

Q: Do you have a life motto?
A:I have always appreciated a good adage or motto, and one of my favorites is: “If you think you can do a thing or think you can’t do a thing, you’re right.” – Henry Ford

Q: Why real estate?
A:I have always valued real estate as an excellent medium for earning and maintaining wealth. It is an investment vehicle that appreciates with time and benefits from a financial leverage that is not inherent in other forms of investment. I like to help to put deals together that involve the acquisition of real estate and businesses.
